Calculations: Multiplication (Continued)

-          Making equal rows.

-          Making doubles.

-          Solving word problems – equal groups.

Geometry – Properties of Shape: Shapes and Patterns (1.5 weeks)

-          Recognising 3D and 2D shapes.

-          Grouping 2D shapes.

-          Making patterns.

 

Calculations: Division (1 week)

-          Grouping equally.

-          Number bonds to 20.

-          Solving picture problems involving addition and subtraction.

Fractions (1 week)

-          Making halves.

-          Making quarters.

-          Sharing and grouping numbers.

 

Measurement: Length and Height (1.5 weeks)

-          Comparing Height and Length.

-          Measuring using items – pencils, books. Body parts.

-          Measuring using a ruler.

Number and Place Value: Numbers to 100 (1.5 weeks)

-          Counting to 100.

-          Finding tens and ones to construct a number.

-          Compare and order numbers.

-          Pattern seeking when counting numbers in 1, 2, 5.

Review and Mid -year test  (2 weeks)

 

N.B: this time may be reduced according to the needs of the class and cohort. Pupils may need more time on curriculum content opposed to a large review of the year so far. This is down to the discretion on the class teacher.

Measurement: Time (1.5 weeks)

-          Telling the time to the hour and half hour.

-          Ordering events using next, before and after.

-          Estimate times using seconds, minutes and hours.

-          Compare time using quicker, slower, earlier and later.

-          Using a calendar to learn the days of the week and months of the year.

Measurement: Volume and Capacity (1 week)

-          Compare volume and capacity using more than and less than.

-          Find the volume and capacity of a container using non-standard measurements.

-          Describe volume using the terms halves and quarter.

Number and Place Value: Numbers to 20 (2 weeks)

-          Counting, Reading and writing numbers to 20.

-          Compare and order numbers to 20 in ascending and descending order.

-          Understand the concept of greater than and less than.

-          Find patterns involving numbers to 20.

-          Compare mass using terms heavy, light, heavier and lighter.

-          Find the mass using non- standard measurements.

-          Find and compare the mass using non- standard units.

-          Describe positions in relation to one another.

-          Describe movement.

-          Understand how to make turns connected with time.
